The initial concept stepped down following the sites slope. Upon facing the house more towards the east, the house stepped down the site within and across the three distinct pavilions. The highest being the entrance and lowest a lounge space. The entry begins the point of the horizontal axis through the pavilions.

Functional & Aesthetic

The Peninsula show home is a quiet parity between functionality and aesthetics, creating architecture with a local presence and a nordic resonance.
The core of Harwood’s Scandinavian design is tunefully finished with warm wood tones and crisp whites. This home lets you escape to your own place of calm. With its soft palette and harmonious tone on tone scheme, the home is like a serene cocoon with delicate elegance.

Modern Home

First impressions definitely count when it comes to the new show home by Stonewood Homes at The Lakes, Tauranga. Stonewood Homes owner Chris Norris says visitors are wowed the moment they step inside, impressed by the incredibly high stud that encompasses the heart of the house that includes the kitchen, dining, and sun-drenched family room area.

Contemporary Home

Encased in metal sheeting, and macrocarpa milled off the owners’ farm, this modern Taupiri treasure rests happily in rural surrounds. While stunning in its simplicity, the design is far from straightforward. The roof is all but hidden thanks to internal gutter slopes and discreet down pipe placement. External walls do not run parallel with the roof-line and few walls – internal or external – meet at 90-degree angles.

Innovation was key to creating this remarkably private, contemporary house, urban oasis on a tight site that presented unique challenges and opportunities. The major consideration was given to neighbours surrounding the thoroughly future-proofed cedar and clay brick family home, which sits harmoniously alongside a Catholic convent and juts onto school grounds overlooking Tauranga Harbour.
